Description

This particular Buick GS has added power with Eldebrock ALumunium Heads, Edelbrock Performer Manifold, MSD Fuel Injection, Headers with 2 ½ Pipe Flowmaster and Power Shift Kit for the 400 Turbo Hydro Transmission increasing the factory 360HP to 485HP

The 1967 Buick Riviera GS (Gran Sport) is widely regarded by enthusiasts as a pinnacle of American luxury performance, marking the second year of the Riviera's second generation. This model year is particularly significant for debuting Buick's massive 430 cubic inch V8 engine, replacing the legendary "Nailhead" series.

The GS was not a separate model but an optional performance and handling package for the Riviera

  • Engine: A 430 ci (7.0L) Wildcat V8 producing 360 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque.
  • GS Package Upgrades: Includes a limited-slip (Positraction) differential, a heavy-duty sport suspension, and distinct "Riviera GS" badging.
  • Transmission: Typically paired with a 3-speed Super Turbine 400 automatic transmission.
  • Styling: Features unique hidden headlights (operated by electric motors in '67), a "W" shaped front-end profile, and a distinctive "Riviera" script on the hood.
  • Interior: Notable for its "drum" or "barrel" style speedometer where a rotating cylinder indicates speed

Rarity & Production
Out of a total of 42,799 Rivieras produced in 1967, only 4,837 were equipped with the GS Handling Option. Authentic GS models can be identified by the "Riviera GS" emblems on the front fenders and trunk; specialists note that the letters should follow the script, as "GS Riviera" is considered an incorrect aftermarket placement
