Description

This 1978 Porsche 928 is a European-market example that was imported from Germany to Norway in 1984. Refurbishment work in 2022 consisted of refinishing the car in orange and fitting a resealed replacement 928S-specification 4.7-liter V8, which is paired with a rebuilt five-speed manual transaxle. 928 S4 brakes were added along with Eibach lowering springs and Bilstein shocks, and the car is further equipped with 16″ phone-dial alloy wheels, pop-up headlights, black leather upholstery, front sport seats, power windows, and a Blaupunkt cassette stereo. Showing 201k kilometers (~125k miles), this 928 is now offered on dealer consignment in Norway with service records, refurbishment photos, and Norwegian registration – Now with WA State Title and Registration

The car reportedly left the factory finished in Guards Red, and it received a color change to Porsche Continental Orange in 2022. Exterior details include front and rear fog lights, pop-up headlights, power-adjustable side mirrors, and a heated rear window. The right-side mirror’s vertical adjustment does not work.

The staggered-width 16″ phone-dial alloy wheels wear a mixed set of Falken front and Hankook rear tires. Eibach lowering springs and Bilstein shocks have been fitted, and the upper control arms are said to have been recently replaced. The brakes are reportedly 928 S4-specification items, featuring cross-drilled front rotors and a replacement master cylinder

The front sport seats have been reupholstered in black leather, and the door panels and folding rear seats are trimmed to match. Additional interior appointments include power windows, a Blaupunkt Toronto cassette stereo, an analog clock, and a cabin heater.

The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel frames a 270-km/h speedometer, a 7,600-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and voltage. The six-digit odometer shows 201k kilometers (~125k miles), approximately 3k of which were added under current ownership. The consigning dealer reports 80k kilometers added since the engine replacement.

The replacement V8 is said to be a 1980 European-specification M28.12 928S unit that was installed in 2022. It was reportedly resealed the following year and fitted with a replacement timing belt, rollers, and water pump

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rear-mounted five-speed manual transaxle that was reportedly rebuilt along with the torque tube.
